Robbers Stole N100m In Ikorodu Bank Raid

A four-man gang who allegedly attacked and robbed two banks in Ikorodu, Lagos State, were on Wednesday charged to court. The alleged members of the armed robbery gang were identified as Kowei Victor, 42; Friday Abiwa, 20; Omolaja Omoboye, 39 and Agbojule Bright, 25. According to the police, the ganag members, armed with AK-47, dynamites and other weapons, robbed First Bank Plc and Zenith Bank Plc in Ikorodu.
It was also gathered that during the robbery operation which lasted for about two hours, the alleged armed robbers carted away N99.536 million. The alleged armed robbers also disposessed the two banks of $2,750 and thousands of euro notes after blowing up the banks entrance with dynamite. The four defendants pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them. The magistrate, Mrs. M. O. Olajuwon, ordered that the four robbery suspects be remanded in prison custody pending the DPP's advice on the matter. Olajuwon also ordered the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and forward it to the DPP for legal advice. She adjourned the matter till October 23.
