The economic and financial crimes commission
has declared a former presidential candidate
Emmanuel Osita Okereke wanted.
The commission said in a statement that
Okereke who is the director general of the
National Task Force to Combat Illegal
Importation of Small Arms, Ammunition, and
Light Weapons, NATFORCE is wanted for jumping
bail
Okereke is being prosecuted by the EFCC on a
six-count charge of impersonation, forgery and
obtaining by false pretence but has for some
time been on bail.
The commission claimed the politician was arrested with several incriminating items, including bullet proof vests and had been operating a syndicate with offices across the country. It added that he had been defrauding unsuspecting members of the public, by selling recruitment forms for 5,000 naira in the guise of offering them federal government jobs.
