As 2015 runs
through the ember
months, Kwara
State Command of
the Federal Road
Safety Corps has
charged the
general public not
to differentiate the
last four months of
the year from the
other months.
While speaking at
the launch of the
ember months
campaign in Ilorin,
the leadership of
the corps
reiterates its
readiness to make
roads safer for
Nigerians during
the period when
statistics show that
road users
increase than
other months in
the year.
With 2015 gradually running out, the months of September through December otherwise called ember months is always known for an upsurge in activities and for relevant agencies like the federal road safety corps, more accidents are likely to be recorded in this period thus the need for sensitisation and orientation. While launching this year’s ember months safety campaign, the Kwara State Sector Commander, Sunday Maku, notes that in ember months , there is more movement of people and increase of road usage across the country, which may lead to users pushing the boundaries leading to reckless driving which accounts for a greater percentage of accidents recorded during these months.
