st of 21 players for the U-20 World Cup in New Zealand to be released by Coach Garba Mamu and his assistants on Friday. The team’s skipper, Musa Muhammed, admitted that the mood in the Nurnberg (Germany) camp is tense, because even though Garba said he already had an idea of the 21 players he’d be taking to the tournament, the suspense has got the camp tense. “Yes, there is a lot of tension in the team,” he told thenff.com. “Every one of us is fighting to make the final squad. We are all putting our lives on the line to be on the flight to New Zealand. The coaches now have the chance to pick the best to represent Nigeria.” The 18-year-old, however, added that every member of the team have worked hard and stayed focused on the task ahead. “We have trained very hard [and] we are focused,” he said. But despite acknowledging their hard work, he went on to reiterate Manu’s stand that none of them is guaranteed an automatic spot on the team but said he’ll be very proud to make the cut.
