The senate has
confirmed the
nomination of
Babatunde
Fashola, Chris
Ngige and sixteen
others as ministers
after two days of
ministerial
screening. Senate
president Bukola
Saraki announced
the confirmation of
the nominees on
Wednesday. It was
however not
smooth sailing for
Lai Mohammed
whom opposition
senators but were
ignored by the
senate president.
It’s the second day of the ministerial screening and ten nominees were slated for the exercise Like the first day the senate went into another closed door meeting But when plenary resumed senate president announced the withdrawal of Ahmed Ibeto from the ministerial list And when it was time for screening,former Lagos state governor Babatunde Fashola was first to face the senators. Next was the group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum corporation Ibe Kachikwu who spoke on the adverse effect of the non passage of the petroleum industry bill and the state of the refineries At the end the senate unanimously confirmed 18 of the nominees before adjourning to Thursday.
