Police command
has again arrested
five suspected
armed robbers
who have been
terrorizing the
good people of
Itele,Ijaba,Iya Iyesi
and other places in
Ado Odo Ota Local
Government Area
of Ogun State after
the suspects had
carried out some
robbery operations
in the areas .
The detectives attached to the Special Anti Robbery Squad of the command ,while acting on a tip off, embarked on investigation of the activities of these armed robbers when the detectives arrested one of the suspects,Mohammed Aliu,in Lafenwa area of Abeokuta on 20/09/2015 at 12 mid night; and his arrest later led to the arrest of the other four suspects at various locations in Ogun State. The suspects include Mohammed Aliu,m,Ojulari Sakiru,m,Akinniyi Ademola,m,Odeh Benedict,m,and Sunday Uche,m. Odeh Sunday,who is from Kogi State,had been in prison custody for another offense and was released recently before he was arrested for armed robbery case,while Sunday Uche,who hails from Abia State,was a night guard at Iyana Iyesi community and leader of the robbery syndicate. Sunday deceived the members of the community when they were calling on him while the robbery operation lasted,as he responded affirmatively that he was in charge,whereas he was the one who led the armed robbers to rob his “employers”. Items recovered from them included 3 locally made single- barreled guns,a dummy gun,some life cartridges,assorted charms and 13 mobile phones of different makes and one Toyota Rav 4 SUV with Reg No JJJ 559 BF,which had been released to the owner as directed by the Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali. The Commissioner of Police has directed that the SARS Ogun state should carry out proper investigation into the case and charge the suspects to court immediately the investigation is completed,with the credible evidence the police have against them. The Police Boss also advised members of the public to always screen those to be employed as night guards or maids to avoid such an incident in the state.
