Former Education Minister,Dr Olaiya Oni Is Dead

A former Nigerian minister of education and one-time chairperson of the Labour Party (LP) in Ondo State, Dr Olaiya Oni, has died. Dr Oni aged 72 -died at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC, in Owo, Ondo state on Sunday afternoon, according to Sahara Reporters.

One of his close friends told Saharareporters that the former politician has been sick for the past three months at his Ise Ekiti hometown in Ekiti State. " He has been bedridden for some months", the source added. A family source who also confirmed the news to our correspondent said the family has called for a meeting discuss burial arrangements for Dr. oni.
