Fire has gutted the office complex of the former
Deputy Governor of Edo state, Rev. Peter
Obadan. The complex located along Commercial
Avenue in the Government Reservation Area
(GRA), Benin City, was completed razed by fire
before help could come from men of the Fire
Service.
The incident occurred last Friday morning. Vanguard learnt that some of the gift items meant for the burial of the mother of the incumbent state deputy governor, Dr Pius Odubu was destroyed in the inferno. When contacted, Rev.Obadan expressed shock, saying, "I cannot understand because PHCN people came to check and they said it was not an electrical fault. Several things were destroyed including the hall at the event center. “We thank God no life was lost. The whole thing is strange but the Bible says give thanks to God whether good or bad. So we give thanks to God, he knows it all".
