Uniuyo Gets New VC

Prof. Enefiok Essien has been appointed the new Vice Chancellor of University of Uyo (Uniuyo), according to a statement issued by the university and signed by the Registrar, Mrs Edak Umondak. The statement, made available in Uyo on Monday, noted that the appointment would take effect in December. It stated that Essien is a professor of Commercial Law, a two-time Dean, Faculty of Law, and Chairman, Committee of Deans, Uniuyo. “Prof. Essien is taking over from Prof. Comfort Ekpo, who is completing her five-year tenure as Vice Chancellor, University of Uyo at the end of November 2015,” the statement said. It added that the emergence of Essien followed a painstaking thorough and uncompromising transparent process and urged the university community to give him the support he required to succeed.
