Miss Jessica Edionwele, the daughter of a
member of the House of Representatives, Mr
Joe Ediowele, has been declared missing after
flying from Lagos to Abuja on October 7, 2015.
Her father said Miss Edionwele, 25, who is
serving as a corps member in Ibadan, boarded a
flight from Lagos to Abuja on October 7, 2015
but she had not been seen since her flight
landed in Abuja.
The lawmaker representing Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Federal Constituency said the family suspected a foul play. Family sources told Daily Trust they feared that she might have been abducted. The family said they checked passenger manifest for the flight Jessica boarded to Abuja and it showed that she landed in Abuja. She went missing between the airport and her home in Area One, a 32km commute. The cause of her disappearance has not been determined but the family ruled out the possibility of an accident as no case of traffic accident was reported between the airport and Area One in the past three days. The case has been reported to the police authorities. “It happened between the airport and my house in Area One. We have reported the case to the police. They are trying to locate her and looking for any clue that can assist the search efforts. We think she’s been abducted. But no ransom has been demanded,” the father told Daily Trust on Sunday on phone.
