The Code of Conduct Tribunal has granted the
Senate President Bukola Saraki bail on self
recognition. Tribunal chairman Danladi Umar
took the decision after Saraki was docked and
pleaded not guilty to a 13-count charge of
improper declaration of assets.
Saraki’s lawyer, Joseph Daudu had made oral application for bail and in response the chairman noted that the tribunal will neither detain nor ask for a surety. Umar subsequently adjourned till October 21, 22 and 23 for hearing.
