Chelsea have signed Nantes defender Papy
Djilobodji for a reported £4 million.
The Blues have conceded nine goals in their
opening four Premier League games and
have responded by signing the centre-back
on a four-year deal.
A statement on Nantes website said: "As with Jordan Veretout, Djilobodji joins the Premier League and the ranks of the champions. Nantes extend their congratulations and wish him well for the rest of his career." Djilobodji, 26, joined Nantes from Moissy- Cramayel in 2009 before going on to make 171 league appearances for the club in Ligue 1 and 2 and scoring nine goals. The Senegal international could make his Chelsea debut against Everton at Goodison Park on September 12 after the international break.
