No fewer than nine people have been
reportedly killed in two bomb attacks, in the
northern Cameroon town of Kolofata.
This is the latest in a string of attacks by the
so-called terrorist sect, Boko Haram.
Army spokesman Colonel Didier Badjeck,
confirmed the death toll, and said an
investigation was underway amid reports
about whether the attacks were carried out
by two teenage boys or two young women.
Kolofata lies close to the border with northeast Nigeria and has repeatedly been the target of attacks by the Islamists. Cameroon is a major contributor to an 8,700-strong, Nigerian-led regional force expected to start operations against the Islamist group this year.
