The Vice chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Hayford Mafuyai has tabled the major challenges that the institution is facing in the security burdened state. Mafuyai who was
accompanied by the University’s Management team on a courtesy call to Governor Simon Lalong reminded him to look into the several request they had earlier presented to the
executive inorder to ensure that safety of lives and property and a conducive learning environment is guaranteed in the University Of Jos.
The Vice chancellor also seized the occasion to commend the appointment of Professor Attahiru Jega as the new Pro Chancellor of the Plateau state University, Bokkos. From Plateau state Government House, Rayfield, Jos, here are the deals. The VC who hails from Bokkos where the state university is situated also thanked the leadership of the Nigeria University Commission for being patient with the ailing institution in the reconstitution of the governing council. It is expected that the governor of the state, Simon Lalong will immediately swing into action in granting UNIJOS its security and scholastic needs in a bid to rescuing the already deplorable status of education both in the state and in the nation at large.
