The Senate has invited the Central Bank governor Godwin Emefiele to brief it on the real state of the economy and the current free fall of the naira. This was on the basis of a motion by Senator Nazif Sueliman (Bauchi North) which received unanimous support in the senate chamber.
Many senators spoke on how bad the naira had depreciated in recent months with a number of them blaming the situation on poor management of the economy by the previous government.
