Anenih resigns as PDP BoT chairman
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Tony Anenih, has resigned from his post.
Anenih cited “the current state of affairs within the party.”
He said this in a letter he signed and submitted to President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday in Abuja.
The letter titled ‘Notice of my decision to step down as Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party’, is dated May 20, 2015 and addressed to Jonathan.
Barring any last minute change of mind, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Tony Anenih, is set to resign from his coveted post.
Anenih was the BoT chairman few weeks to the end of tenure of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as the President in 2007, when the then President took over the post in controversial circumstance.
An aide to the Edo-born former Minister of Works confided in our correspondent in Abuja on Wednesday evening that Anenih’s letter of resignation was “ready about to be submitted.”
Adamu Mu’azu resigned on Wednesday morning as the National Chairman of the party, which has been plunged into crisis since it suffered a heavy defeat in the Marh 28 and April 11 elections.
Details later…
