Minister Queries Inspector General Over Absence At Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem Decoration

The Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Danbazau (rtd), on Monday, queried the absence of Inspector- General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, at a ceremony where Danbazau and other officials under the ministry were decorated with the 2016 Armed Forces Remembrance emblem.
Following presidential directive that all ministers should be decorated with the emblem in their offices, the National Chairman of Nigerian Legion, Colonel Gayya Micha (rtd), was at the Ministry of Interior to decorate the minister and other top officers of the ministry. Danbazau was unhappy that Arase was not in attendance and did not send a representative at the event where other top officials were present except the Commander General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, who sent a representation. The three top officials in attendance, Controllers-General of Prisons, Immigration and Federal Fire Service, were decorated with the emblem alongside Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Bassey Akpayung and other directors.
