A four-man gang of armed robbers this weekend, invaded the residence of National
Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in
Abeokuta , Ogun State, and robbed them at
gunpoint.
The NYSC lodge is located behind Development
Centre, Presidential Boulevard, Abeokuta.
It was gathered that the robbery, which occurred on Saturday at about 3a.m., was the third in five months. Some of the victims, who spoke to reporters said the four-man gang escaped through bush path after the operation. Two of the bandits moved from one room to another, while the other two stood guard outside. Meanwhile, efforts to get the Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Police Command, Muyiwa Adejobi, on the issue proved abortive. But sources said efforts were ongoing to provide adequate surveillance in the area.
