National Bureau of Statistics is set for early
tracking of the progress of the proposed United
Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals for
effective implementation in Nigeria. Statistician
General of the federation Yemi Kale made this
known in Abuja at a stakeholders’ workshop on
data mapping for the SDGs in Nigeria.
Kale noted that the measures became necessary to avoid a repeat of some of the challenges that hampered the effective monitoring of MDGs implementation in the country. The SDGs is an international development framework due to be signed by over 140 nations including Nigeria in the coming weeks.
