Nasarawa State governor,Tanko Al-
Makura has appealed to the chairman,
JAIZ Bank for the establishment of the
bank in the state.
The governor made the appeal in Lafia
when he received a delegation of the
bank led by its chairman, Dr. Umar
Abdumutallab at the Government House.
Al-Makura explained that the benefits of establishing JAIZ Bank in the state are enormous and capable of turning around the economic fortunes of the citizenry. Earlier, the chairman of the bank, Dr. Abdumutallab assured the governor that the bank would establish branches in Nasarawa State as according to him, “We have just received note from the Central Bank of Nigeria, they have given us an approval in principle and God willing, very soon as we start embarking on establishment of branches certainly Nasarawa State will be one of the states that will be considered”. He explained that their visit to Nasarawa State was to intimate the governor on the projects the institution intends to carry out in the state. He added that the new automotive culture which NIVA Automotive Nigeria Ltd would soon introduce in Nasarawa State will also benefit the people of the state. According to him it is a system where vehicles, both private and commercial, will undergo some examination to ensure their safety, saying it will improve driving conditions and reduce accidents just as it is also expected to boost the revenue base of the state. He said the exercise will be of two kinds where private vehicles will be checked once in a year while the commercial vehicles will be checked every six months.
