UNIOSUN: Registrar, Bursar Ask Aregbesola To Reverse Appointment Termination

The registrar and the bursar of the Osun State University, Dr. Julius Faniran and Bayo Lasisi, whose appointments were terminated following the recommendations of the Visitation Panel to the institution have asked Governor Rauf Aregbesola
to reinstate them. The duo in a letter written to the governor and jointly signed, faulted the panel headed by the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof. Adebiyi Daramola for recommending their sacking. The two principal officers of the university, who jointly signed the letter copied to the Speaker and about seven other persons said the crisis in the Univetsity did not warrant termination of their appointments. A copy of the letter signed by the duo was sighted by our correspondent in Osogbo on Saturday. Faniran and Lasisi accused the panel,of compromise, claiming that while the panel recommended heavy sanctions against some officials the former Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Gabriel Olawoyin (SAN) considered to be his “enemies” while the panel refused to sanction Olawoyin “boys who committed grievous crimes.”
