Egypt Court Adjourns Retrial Of Al Jazeera Journalists Again

An Egyptian Court has, again adjourned the retrial of 3 Al-jazeera journalists in Cairo on Thursday "We are extremely angry that the verdict has been adjourned today," Al Jazeera said on its Twitter feed. Australia's Peter Greste, Canadian Mohamed Fahmy and Egyptian Baher Mohamed were sentenced last year for allegedly spreading false news in support of the blacklisted Muslim Brotherhood during their coverage of the turmoil, after the army ousted Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
The reason for the postponement was not clear and there was no official confirmation or response from judicial authorities. Fahmy, a naturalised Canadian who has given up his Egyptian citizenship, andMohamed were released on bail in February after spending more than a year in custody. Peter Greste was deported in February. The journalists were originally sentenced to between seven and 10 years in prison on charges including spreading lies to help a terrorist organisation, which they have denied. Egypt's high court ordered a retrial in January.
